The back part being flat is helpful in that the seat headrest can do it's job, and the soft sides of the pillow then give you a gentle place to turn your neck. First time EVER I've slept 7.5 hours on a plane. **Q: Could somebody tell me please if the part where the back of your neck rests is flatter than the rest of the pillow? no pushing head forward?** A: It is flat but at a slight angle so it rests nicely against the back of the seat.
