There are many brands, and some are harder than others. Corn nuts are VERY hard - these chick peas are not that hard. I would call them "dental safe". The flavors are all on the slightly spicy side though. I have enjoyed this brand and this flavor many times. I would call it a five star snack. **Q: How do you cook these?** A: You don't. They are a dried, crunchy snack like food.
