Storage access via 10gb link is fast. Internet access is fast, across the Cisco backbone, and out through the internet router. **Q: Can it use sfp rj45 10gb modules? read much indicating fiber only, wanted to verify if sfp rj45 10gb worked.** A: Yes it can use 10gb rj45 sfp modules. In use, No issues so far. **Q: What modulars can be used with this switch because I have some axis ones and they aren’t working** A: Are the axios modules 1-gigabit SFP modules (as opposed to 10G SFP+ modules)? If so, log into the switch and manually set the port speed for that particular SFP+ port to 1-gigabit. I ran into this issue when I connected this switch to the uplink SFP port of a 1-gigabit switch. When I manually set the link speed on this SFP+ to 1-gigabit, that fixed the problem instantly. If all your modules are 1-gigabit SFP, you may have a chicken-and-egg problem. (You can’t set the port speed because you can’t get into the switch.). If so, you can use the included RJ45/serial cable and use CLI to configure the switch and set the port speed to get in. (That’s what I did.) **Q: Would this require a vpn router? can you recommend one compatible in size to this 10g switch, if not? (sfp ports)** A: No it doesn't require VPN but it's designed be used with the TP-Link Omada system of software or hardware controllers and routers. Within the Omada system its great. If you are looking for a stand alone 10gb switch there are other solutions that would be better and cost less. ## Frequently Bought Together - TP-Link TL-SX3016F | 16 Port 10G SFP+ Enterprise Level Switch | L2+ Smart Managed | Omada SDN Integrated | IPv6 | Static Routing | L2/L3/L4 QoS, IGMP & LAG | 5 Year Manufacturer Warranty - TP-Link TL-SM5310-T | 10GBase-T RJ45 SFP+ Module | 10G Copper SFP+ Transceiver | SFP+ to Ethernet | Plug and Play | Hot Pluggable | Up to 30m distance| | Durable Metal Casing | Versatile Compatibility - TP-Link TL-SG3428X | Jetstream 24 Port Gigabit Switch, 4 x 10GE SFP+ Slots | L2+ Smart Managed | Omada SDN Integrated | IPv6 | Static Routing | Support QoS, IGMP & LAG | 5 Year Manufacturer Warranty --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/419163356-omada-sx3016f-16-port-10g-sfp-enterprise-level-l2-managed](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/419163356-omada-sx3016f-16-port-10g-sfp-enterprise-level-l2-managed) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-12*
