However, that made the inner black band extend below where it usually sits, so I wish they had used a band closer to the straw color so the black would not be so obvious around my ears. Looks a little weird. Still, it’s a cute hat, and the ribbon around the crown gives it a sweet, feminine touch. I folded it like instructed, and it came out of my luggage looking OK, with very little work to eliminate the light fold lines. I just dampened it lightly, smoothed it all out, flattening the brim firmly with both hands, while then letting it rest overnight in an upside-down position, the crown filled tightly with clean socks and underwear. By morning, you’d never know it had ever been folded. The brim looks bigger on me than it does on the models, but I was glad about it, as the sun in Mexico was ferocious! No sunburn anywhere from the shoulders up the whole two weeks. Great hat, just wish it came in a smaller size. We had very high winds a few days, and the chin strap was such a help. I liked being able to let the hat hang over my back when in stores, leaving me hands-free. The straw composition allows breezes blow through it, so it does not tend to make your head sweat. No doubt I will find uses for it year round, down here in south Florida.
