Keep an eye out for your deliveries, visitors, or possible intruders 24/7 with crystal clear 3 MP video and 2-way audio.

Review: Better than the human eye. - This is the best video doorbell in the world, not an exaggeration. I speak with authority. I have tried and returned several. The worst was the Ring door bell. The Kasa Doorbell is so easy to set up using the app and hitting the plus sign to add device, and no monthly charge. The night vision is like daytime. I have never seen this quality of night vision. I started off with one of their indoor cameras that was great, easy to view inside my house when away. Then I bought their doorbell. If this isn't the best photo quality you have ever seen, then there is something wrong with your vision not the doorbell.🤗. One tip--- When you mount the bracket that holds the doorbell, notice the arrow--- The arrow must be up. Wired doorbells are the only way to go. The SD card is a must to review footage. So nice to not pay a monthly charge. If some truant from life steals the doorbell, do what I did, I installed two outdoor cameras, one is hidden in a cedar tree, with just a little trimming. The outdoor cameras also have recording on SD cards. I love it when some silly reviewer says: "not bad for a cheap camera". There is a big difference between an inexpensive camera and a cheaply made camera. This is probably the finest camera money can buy. Minolta, Canon, and Nikon are green with envy. The graphics, the night vision, the easy backup history, the appearance, the chime, and the angled mounting bracket are the best. Some reviewers that complain about loss of signal--- it isn't the camera it is their poor internet. I installed a repeater to extend the signal, and located it near the bell on inside wall. Another silly reviewer said the app needs work, the app is outstanding, simple, affective, flawless. This is no average video doorbell, this is a masterpiece of technology. If this had been made in America it would have been over $10,000 . Come to think of it, I don't think any doorbell is made in America and half of my fellow countrymen don't even know how to use a doorbell. Five stars+++ I especially like the review feature. There are drop down boxes when motion is detected, either green for motion only, or purple for person detection. So If I want to see who came into view, I just click on purple frames. This is a wonderful camera doorbell.
Review: This is what I think. - This Kasa camera is the 3rd or 4th camera I have given a try. I had tried both battery operated and hard wired. The idea of having to replace or charge the batteries every few months turned me away from the battery operated cameras. I have an older Condo and had to purchase a new transformer in order to power this Kasa. I almost didn't try it because the doorbell transformer is tucked up inside a small laundry closet and was heck to get access to... and even then I had to do most of the work with my left hand. Anyway, this old dude managed somehow. When I went to hook up the camera the instructions told me to look for a blinking orange light to confirm I was getting power. Well, all I could see was a white circle light and it was not blinking. I contacted customer service and they walked me through the process a couple of times and I still only saw the white circle light. The CS rep finally said something to the effect of... "You are looking at the small LED light at the top, right?" Well... with my old eyeballs I had never even seen or noticed that itty bitty thing. Once the light was confirmed blinking I was up and running. When I removed my doorbell cover there was a large hole in the wall behind it that was larger than the base of the camera body. I went to Michael's and bought a $2 oval wood piece and painted it. I had to drill holes for the screws and the wires but that part was easy. It has been about a month since installation and I have to give this camera 5 STARS. I'm sure it is not the best one out there... but for $45 it does remarkably well. It makes no sense to me at all to pay for remote storage of 'MY' video. For starters, I think just by having the camera light up when someone approaches is a pretty good deterrent to someone with ulterior motives. I get a notice within 3 seconds if I am on WiFi and maybe 10 or 12 seconds when I am away. This gives plenty of time to speak to someone through the unit... or to use one of the handful of recorded messages. When large trucks or vans go by I usually get a false alert... but I don't find it to be much of a nuisance as I don't live on a major street. The software does allow you to outline the 'active' areas but I have not found that it makes much of a difference. If desired, you have the option to pay a small monthly fee for storage (much less than some others) but you also have the option to insert a Micro SD card, which is what I did. As I understand it, the old video gets replaced to make room for the more recent video. Someone was complaining of this in their review but I find it to be brilliant. If there is a 'serious' event that takes place I can always remove the SD card and copy that file to my computer. But... at least i don't have to remove the SD card every month or so to clear it out for the new data. I haven't had a chance to check out the night visions as our HOA turns all of the porch lights on automatically with a light sensor... but in my case, even with the porch light glaring in, the view is very acceptable. I actually think that this company could give 'R#*G' a run for their money. The quality is pretty great (especially at this price point), the subscription service is much lower... AND they allow you the option for local storage. Who would pay two or three times as much for the other brand... and then have to pay out a substantial amount of money over time in order to have access to your own video?! A bit of software upgrade and I'd give it 5 stars at twice this price... but as it is, I am not sure where I could have found a better value and still have my home 'protected'.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good video doorbell
*by M***X on December 25, 2022*

UPDATE: while the camera is Okay, latest version of the Kasa app is horrible. It often shows the doorbell offline, despite the fact that it's actually online. You have to go to the recordings history, filter your cameras to show only the doorbell, then click Watch Live from there. And it shows up in the main app list of cameras as online. This is very inconvenient. Application quality controls are poor, knocking off one star for that.. I have a few other Kasa camera products, and extensively use their cloud subscription. So it was a relatively easy choice for me to continue using their products with this doorbell. Pros: - installation was easy. Took about 10 minutes. - doorbell ring is loud. - angled frame is nice: I positioned the camera to look exactly at my porch entrance / staircase. - good video quality. - nice Christmas spirit jingle bells melody configured by default. Cons: - this camera and other Kasa product may experience occasional WiFi connectivity issues.. It's like the doorbell is actually online and recording, but Kasa app shows as if it's offline!! This is is quite annoying. Happens a few times a week. I had this happening with other Kasa cameras too. - $100 a year cloud subscription for 10 devices is a bit expensive, in my opinion.. But I'm still paying for that for the 2nd year in a row now. It's mostly alright, and it's mostly working when needed. - unfortunately you can't use your old / existing chime. Must use the new chime that comes in the kit. There are several ringtones to select from.
