I used to use the darker color, but I found that even the “blonde” is dark enough. The little brush inside is kind of like a pointed piece of felt. It dies get kind of worn out and it wears faster than the product does. I use a toothpick and/or Q-tip to apply after the brush smooshes out. The makeup dries hard and weirdly shiny. I still like it. I think because it applies nicely. It does NOT come off unless you scrub it. I’ve left it on for days before. I think it’s expensive but they don’t make it anymore.
