I have an older needle valve in the basement that runs plastic tubing up thru my kitchen floor direct connected to my old fridge. I saw that HD required a valve to be within 6 feet of the fridge so I bought this, spliced this in behind the fridge (needed to buy plastic compression washers at HD, this comes with copper washers). All works like a charm. New fridge is churning out ice leak free and life is good. The quality is excellent, the brass is heavy. It is stamped LF (lead free) on the side.
