My cats have never liked shreds and would just lick off the juice and leave the shreds. I adopted a picky cat who was a dry food and junk food addict and wanted to switch him to a better quality food. He turned his nose up at first but then decided he couldn't get enough of this and licked the bowl clean which he hasn't done with any other food I tried. I really hope he doesn't change his mind because it is a great food without fillers and ingredients cats don't need. I also like that it doesn't stink up the house like some other brands.
