There are no moving parts in the whistle and the body is made of heavy durable plastic material. There is nothing that will be damaged by water, even at extreme depths. You had best plug both ears with your fingers when you blow it, or you will experience a sound level overload in your ear drums that is similar to that heard near a jet engine.
