Working well for volleyball
Hi, I've been using the brace while playing volleyball for several months now. The support is very good. The brace is also more comfortable than some of the others I've tried. For instance I used a comparable Zamst brace for a while and this one is way more comfortable for me. The Zamst didn't come up as high and dug into the side of my leg.So far I haven't jumped up and landed on anyone's foot. When it does happen I'm confident this brace will save me from being hobbled for weeks.

Quality and Comfort
These were purchased for my daughter for volleyball. This is the second set we have purchased and she was happy with the original set so we purchased another. As for longevity we got one complete year out of the original pair and what wore out was the velcro strap. They do not seem to restrict movement much and so far we have not had any issues with ankle problems. Keep in mind that these braces are intended to prevent ankle injuries, not support ankle after injury.

The most protective active ankle brace - important to test it out doing your sport
Have tried all the main top-reviewed ankle braces. None are perfect, and it may be worth owning several due to the different characteristics of each. This ankle brace (Eclipse 2) is definitely the best for ankle roll protection. There is no other brace that is as solid against ankle sprains. The Zamst comes close, but is not quite as good, and the ASO brace while definitely adding a lot of sprain protection, is noticeably less protective especially after running a lot where it slightly loosens. The main issue with this one is the comfort, as the hard side posts surrounding the foot (not ankle) can dig into your foot if your foot is a bit wider. I would note that you need to TEST this out with the sport you play - for me, the posts annoyingly dig into the sides into my feet a little while I'm standing or walking but the moment I start running or cutting, enough weight comes off my heel that it is completely fine. I've run on trails for 2 hrs with this thing pain-free no blisters, yet walking 5 mins in them makes me worried about chafing - so you def need to do your sport to see how it does. The hard posts really make a difference if you're playing or running for longer time, like 1+hrs. The ASO and other strapped braces tend to slightly loosen with time, decreasing protection a bit, whereas this one is as protective at the end as the start. This brace is slightly better than even the Zamst for protection. The Zamst doesn't have the issue of post-chafing like this one, but for sure, the posts/hinge setup on this give you the maximum protection possible short of a massive fracture boot.Mobility is surprisingly good with this - no issues with cutting, and no problems with the 'hinge', and weight was not noticeable. I actually think this brace is more mobile than the ASO/soft braces, since you're not relying on strap tightness for protection so the straps are not as tight/restrictive as the soft braces. I have had literally zero mobility issues with this, which I found surprising given the full post setup, and I actually prefer the feeling of greater stability the posts gave.Putting it on is not hard as well. It's not exactly easy, but I'd say easier than most other braces.Aside from the potential fit/chafing issue with the posts on your foot (not ankle), I'd give this 5 stars if it works for you. Again, remember you have to try it doing your sport - walking around with it can confuse the issue since your foot flattens out while walking, and may lead to more chafing as it did with me.

Check your ankle diameter before purchase
Would be nice if it fit. Even the large size is not made for fat people. Know that the larger size only fits if the product is being judged from a shoe size not an ankle diameter size. I am not super morbidly obese, but am quite obese and the large size did not come close to fitting the diameter of my ankle

Larger sizing than the Volt
I bought The Eclipse II, Volt and DonJoy Bionic. They all seemed like a really well made products. I ordered a small Eclipse II and it was just too tall for my foot. It put pressure on my ankle bone. Were I 1/4" taller to the bottom of the stirrup it probably would have been perfect. I'm a very small build. The Volt fit fine, but the stirrup is uncomfortable. The Donjoy Bionic was by far the most comfortable but I never even got to take a step in it, as the bottom strap broke off the 1st time I pulled on it.

Best for very narrow feet
It’s good idea and construction easy to put on and off but wow it was painful, tired adjusting several times and every step it pinched and was not comfortable couldn’t get it off quickly enough. Maybe work better if you have very narrow ankle/feet?

Best brace we found
My son sprained his ankle at the beginning of basketball season, we went through 4 braces, including the one from his orthopedic surgeon, before we found this one that he LOVES!!! No more worrying about another twist, he can jump, land, push off while wearing this brace and it fits in his Spongebob Nikes without damaging the sneakers. He continued to wear it throughout the season and did not affect his game at all.Great Brace.

A supportive brace that prevents injury while allowing normal ankle function.
Exactly what I was looking for! Side to side stability but still able to flex and point foot. I have had chronic ankle issues for my whole life. I own every type of ankle brace on the market. This one is different. I love trail running but my ankles are not stable enough, I easily twist my ankles. This brace allows me to run without worry of turning my ankles. I use them for running, hiking, HIIT, CrossFit. Building confidence and strength in my ankles while supporting them. Only down side is you have to use the brace with a shoe. Not useful for gymnasts. But for everything else it’s amazing!! Finally a brace that allows me to still move but also prevents turning or rolling of the ankle.
