I love the new flavors but you must have water available. They have never upset my stomach, give me energy and help me to maintain my blood sugar. Review: Great for bike rides! - I love eating one of these before a bike ride! I've taken rides where I forget to eat a Gu pack before and I can feel I don't have as much energy or stamina. Maybe it's just a mental trick, but I know they work for me! The flavor is really good. I have a sweet tooth though, so maybe the texture would be off putting to some people that don't crave sweets like I do. Each pack is nice and portable so you can bring one with you on longer rides to have mid-way. I haven't noticed any changes to how my digestion works, so I don't have any issues with that. Maybe people that are sensitive to sweets might have a problem? I haven't noticed any side effects. I usually notice something from caffeine, but there must not be enough in these to affect me. ## Features - Variety Pack includes Vanilla Bean, Salted Caramel, Caramel Macchiato, Espresso Love, Chocolate Outrage; caffeine varies by flavor. All flavors Vegan and Gluten Free. - The Original Sports Nutrition Energy Gel designed to help athletes perform their best; 100 calories and essential electrolytes in a portable packet - Dual source energy from maltodextrin and fructose that use non-competing pathways for efficient absorption and lasting energy whether running, biking, hiking, or skiing - Use for training or racing year-round! It's sweet and slightly vanilla-ish, but otherwise doesn't have a lot of flavor (which is the point). Very little aftertaste and doesn't leave your mouth feeling coated in a film. **Q: Are those gluten free?** A: It does not say on the box. I would recommend to contact the GU company directly. **Q: Is this one box of 24 packets?** A: Yes. **Q: Any tennis players use this product? Have tried another brand (coffee & chocolate) and gets me all jittery which is not good for a tennis match** A: If the jittery feeling you experienced was from caffeine, you can rest assured that this flavor (Strawberry Banana) is caffeine free. Had all the highs, all the lows, ate all the chalky glucose tabs and powder mix's to raise sugars. Sure, i can carry around a soda and a few swigs would bring my BG back up, but these packets are small enough to put in a pocket and have enough carbs to raise me up without the risk of getting too high, plus the benefits of an energy supplement. Comes in handy on long motorcycle rides, having a day trip at the zoo in the summer heat, and saved me and another cub scout at camp. Plus, i like the pudding texture and flavors are excellent. ## Frequently Bought Together - GU Energy Original Sports Nutrition Energy Gel, Vegan, Gluten-Free, Kosher, and Dairy-Free On-the-Go Energy for Any Workout, 24-Count, Assorted Indulgent Flavors - Honey Stinger Organic Honey Waffle Energy Stroopwafel for Exercise, Endurance and Performance Sports Nutrition for Home & Gym, Pre and Post Workout Box of 16 Waffles, 16.96 Ounce (Pack of 16) - GU Energy Roctane Ultra Endurance Energy Gel, Vegan, Gluten-Free, Kosher, and Dairy-Free On-The-Go Sports Nutrition for Running, Biking, Hiking or Skiing, Assorted Flavors,24-Count --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/40589915-gu-energy-original-energy-gels-assorted-indulgent-flavors-24-count](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/40589915-gu-energy-original-energy-gels-assorted-indulgent-flavors-24-count) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-02*
