Yes it's still not exactly cheap but compared to a lot of other retailers its a really good offer. It's well worth the money imo because it gives you an extra 1tb (roughly) of extra space to download all the games you want to play. Saves you from having to uninstall games constantly to make space for new ones. It is so simple to use, you just plug it into the back of your xbox. I haven't had any issues with it so far so I definitely recommend buying one of these. The price on desertcart is also great value for money compared to other retailers! Review: Expensive, but a must have. - Added to the price of a Series X, certainly makes this HDD purchase a gut punch. Yet with the console only having around 800GB of usable storage it is a must have. AAA games tend to be over150GB these days and are only growing, meaning extra storage will be needed unless you want to delete a game, to download a new game. The HDD itself is small and lightweight, and the connectivity is extremely easy, with it only allowing seating in the correct aspect. It is plug and play, so there's no software to install. The transfer speeds are around the 4Gb per second, which makes moving games from internal to external drives very fast and easy. Any game or app which you run from this drive, runs just as well as the internal drive with no speed, load time or crashing issues. The drive casing is plastic and does feel a little cheap, but it is inserted in to the back of Xbox and then left alone, so I don't see this being an issue. Especially as it's the chip quality that counts. ## Features - SEAMLESS GAMEPLAY Designed in partnership with Xbox to seamlessly play Xbox Series X|S games from the internal SSD or the expansion card without sacrificing graphics, latency, load times or framerates - HIGH CAPACITY 1 TB of storage increases the overall capacity of the Xbox Series X|S — collect thousands of games across four generations of Xbox without sacrificing performance - 3 years Rescue Services included - QUICK RESUME Switch between multiple titles in seconds — directly from the internal SSD or the expansion card - WARRANTY Enjoy long-term peace of mind with the included 3-year limited warranty ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B09BJYXMDW | | Best Sellers Rank | 4,265 in PC & Video Games ( See Top 100 in PC & Video Games ) 7 in Xbox Series X & S Storage 121 in Internal Solid State Drives | | Box Contents | Expansion Card for Xbox X/S SSD 2TB, USB cable, The actual capacity may vary. | | Brand | Seagate | | Brand Name | Seagate | | Cache Memory Installed Size | 2 | | Color | Grey | | Compatible Devices | Gaming Console | | Compatible Video Game Console Models | Microsoft Xbox SERIES S, Microsoft Xbox SERIES X | | Connectivity technology | PCIe Gen4 | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 out of 5 stars 30,172 Reviews | | Data Transfer Rate | 5000 Megabytes Per Second | | Digital Storage Capacity | 2000 GB | | Digital storage capacity | 2000 GB | | Enclosure Material | SSD | | Form Factor | 2.5-inch | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00763649170311 | | Hard Disk Description | Solid State Drive | | Hard Disk Form Factor | 2.5 Inches | | Hard Disk Interface | USB 3.0 | | Hard Disk Rotational Speed | 5400.0 | | Hard disk form factor | 2.5 Inches | | Hard disk interface | USB 3.0 | | Hard-Drive Size | 2 TB | | Hardware Connectivity | Solid State Drive | | Hardware Platform | xbox series x | | Installation Type | Internal Hard Drive | | Item Dimensions L x W x Thickness | 5.1L x 3.2W x 0.8Th centimetres | | Item Length | 0.78 Centimetres | | Item Part Number | 8719706042550 | | Item Weight | 30 Grams | | Item Width | 3.16 Centimetres | | Manufacturer | Seagate | | Manufacturer Part Number | STJR2000400 | | Media Speed | 5000 MB/s | | Model Name | STJR2000400 | | Model Number | STJR2000400 | | Network Connectivity Technology | PCIe Gen4 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Product Features | Portable | | Product Warranty | 3 year manufacturer | | Special feature | Portable | | Specific Uses For Product | Gaming, Multimedia, Personal | | UPC | 763649170311 | | Unit Count | 1.0 count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Seagate - **Colour:** Grey - **Compatible devices:** Gaming Console - **Connectivity technology:** PCIe Gen4 - **Digital storage capacity:** 2000 GB - **Hard disk description:** Solid State Drive - **Hard disk form factor:** 2.5 Inches - **Hard disk interface:** USB 3.0 - **Installation type:** Internal Hard Drive - **Special feature:** Portable ## Images ![Seagate 2TB Xbox Storage Expansion Card | PCIe Gen4 NVMe (STJR2000400) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41YxpVSn9dL.jpg) ![Seagate 2TB Xbox Storage Expansion Card | PCIe Gen4 NVMe (STJR2000400) - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61yg7wlXpHL.jpg) ![Seagate 2TB Xbox Storage Expansion Card | PCIe Gen4 NVMe (STJR2000400) - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71aF8c5RrmL.jpg) ![Seagate 2TB Xbox Storage Expansion Card | PCIe Gen4 NVMe (STJR2000400) - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61scOcdo+cL.jpg) ![Seagate 2TB Xbox Storage Expansion Card | PCIe Gen4 NVMe (STJR2000400) - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/610xJFZwo6L.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: can i use this to transfer games and saves from my xbox one HDD to my new xbox series x?** A: No, this doesn't connect to the xbox one. It is only compatible with Xbox Series S/X. You can transfer titles using another USB drive, but this device is only used to expand the storage space on the Series S/X consoles. **Q: Anyone know when the 2tb sdd expansion card is available in the uk?** A: Possibly late in 2022 do keep checking the internet for information **Q: What is the useable space of a 512GB expansion card after it has been formatted.** A: Maybe 490 gigs. **Q: Is 2tb the biggest or will there be bigger ones coming out? 10 games can easily fill 1tb i need like 5tb.** A: Im not entirely sure what kind of games you play to need 5TB, but to my knowledge, Xbox havent said anything about making bigger expansion cards than the 2TB, however, if you are brave enough, and have enough money, buying 2 of them could solve your problem, since once you installed the games, its literally just a plug and play experience. Hope that helps. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great! *by R***E on 20 June 2026* Exactly what I needed for my xbox series x and this was the best price I could find one of these for. Yet with the console only having around 800GB of usable storage it is a must have. AAA games tend to be over150GB these days and are only growing, meaning extra storage will be needed unless you want to delete a game, to download a new game. Bumps my total X/S storage up to 3TB from 1TB (1TB internal + 2TB expansion card). Allows me to store and launch Xbox Series X/S enhanced games without having to transfer them continuously between USB drives and internal storage (or having to uninstall games). I still use my USB hard drives to store my library of non-enhanced games. 2. Very very very fast read/write speeds. Mimicks internal storage performance. 3. All I needed to do was plug it in and it worked straight out of the box. It’s also hot swappable. Cons: PRICE. PRICE. PRICE. This thing is CRAZY EXPENSIVE. Was it worth it? For me, yes. While it’s dented my wallet quite significantly it allows me to store and launch substantially more X/S enhanced games and since, going forward, newer games will also require the faster storage USB drives are gradually becoming deprecated. Their only use really is for older games. Unless you want to constantly have to move games between USB and internal (a time consuming pain in the bum) consider investing in one of these drives. They’re backed by a 3 year manufacturer warranty as well. Divide £367.59 by 36 and it works out at roughly £10 a month. And that’s not factoring in that, realistically, it’ll continue to last way past the warranty period so realistically it’s probably less. Should you buy one? Well that’s entirely up to you. If you’re able to afford one and don’t like having to uninstall or transfer games between slower USB drives and internal storage (which is slow because of the USB drives limited read/write speeds) then go for it. There are 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB options to suit your needs. The 2TB one, while the larger investment, actually offers the cheapest solution of the three. Effectively you’re paying less per gigabyte than with the other 2 cards. ## Frequently Bought Together - Seagate Storage Expansion Card 2TB Solid State Drive - NVMe SSD for Xbox Series X|S, Quick Resume, Plug & Play, Licensed (STJR2000400) Black - MENEEA Cooling Fan Dust Proof for Xbox Series X Console with Colorful Light Strip,MENEEA Dust Cover Filter,Rubber Dust Plugs,Low Noise Top Fan with 3 Gears,Cooler&Light Independent Touch Switch, 2 USB Port - Cooling Fan for Xbox Series X Mviioe Xbox Series X Cooling Stand with LED Indicator, Extra Big Turbo Fan, USB 2.0 Ports, Dust Cover Filters (Only Compatible with Xbox Series x) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/397049106-seagate-2tb-xbox-storage-expansion-card-pcie-gen4-nvme-stjr2000400](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/397049106-seagate-2tb-xbox-storage-expansion-card-pcie-gen4-nvme-stjr2000400) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-18*
