**Q: I placed my plugs in the refrigerator and they have completely molded over. Is that normal?**
A: They turned white i bet. that is great news as your plugs are thriving. The white "mold" as you say, is the mushroom MYCELIUM! Your in good hands.

**Q: Would pecan wood be a good growing medium and could these be grown in full shade in areas in which summer temperatures can reach 100 degrees?**
A: The company recommends a shaded and moist environment so your shady areas should be good. Don’t know about the pecan wood though

**Q: Can these be used with Pine? (specifically red pine)**
A: Pine is not good at all for Shiitake inoculation.

**Q: Are these organic?**
A: I would think so. You choose your own logs. However, I didn't get any mushrooms whatsoever. None.
