Works with OM1, OM2, OM3 and 62.5/125 or 50/125 multimode cable. - BUILT-IN SC FIBER MODULE: the SC module is inside the unit and factory-aligned - nothing to buy, fit or match. Dual-fiber (separate TX and RX strands), 1000Base-LX with a DIP switch for 100Base-FX if you need Fast Ethernet. - AUTO-SENSING 10/100/1000 COPPER: the RJ-45 port negotiates speed and duplex automatically, so it links to whatever switch, router, NAS, PC or IP camera you connect. Works with Cat5e or Cat6. Ships with a 1m Cat5e patch cord. - PLUG AND PLAY, WITH ROOM TO ADJUST: it works out of the box - connect fiber and RJ-45 and the link comes up, no software, no drivers, nothing to configure. In the rare case you want more control, four DIP switches let you turn Link Loss Forwarding on or off, enable broadcast storm control, or drop the fiber port to 100Base-FX for older Fast Ethernet gear. - BUY TWO FOR A FIBER RUN: use ONE if the far end already has a multimode SC fiber port on a switch. Use TWO, one at each end, to join two copper devices over fiber. - MULTIMODE SC ONLY - CHECK YOUR FIBER: the fiber side is multimode with a built-in SC connector. It will NOT link over single-mode fiber or with a different connector type. Fanless, desktop or wall mount with the included ears. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Best Sellers Rank | #199 in Computer Networking Transceivers | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 out of 5 stars 80 Reviews | ## Images ![Multimode SC Gigabit Fiber Media Converter to Ethernet RJ45, 2km/1.24mi - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61X-IOa69AL.jpg) ![Multimode SC Gigabit Fiber Media Converter to Ethernet RJ45, 2km/1.24mi - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81L+zfT06jL.jpg) ![Multimode SC Gigabit Fiber Media Converter to Ethernet RJ45, 2km/1.24mi - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91rAP0Hiz4L.jpg) ![Multimode SC Gigabit Fiber Media Converter to Ethernet RJ45, 2km/1.24mi - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71Nr8ThJDEL.jpg) ![Multimode SC Gigabit Fiber Media Converter to Ethernet RJ45, 2km/1.24mi - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81j10I-667L.jpg) ## Frequently Bought Together - Multimode Gigabit Fiber Media Converter - Built-In Fiber Module 2 km (1.24 miles) SC – to UTP Cat5e Cat6 10/100/1000 RJ-45 – Auto Sensing Gigabit or Fast Ethernet Speed - Jumbo Frame - LLF Support - Multimode ST Gigabit Fiber Media Converter - Built-in ST Fiber Module 550 m (0.34 Miles) 850 nm - to UTP Cat5e 10/100/1000 RJ-45 – Auto Sensing Gigabit or Fast Ethernet - Jumbo Frame - LLF Support - Multimode SC 850nm Gigabit Fiber Media Converter - Built-In SC Fiber Module 550m (0.34 miles) – to UTP Cat5e Cat6 10/100/1000 RJ-45 – Auto Sensing Gigabit | Fast Ethernet Speed - Jumbo Frame - LLF --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/38952688-multimode-sc-gigabit-fiber-media-converter-to-ethernet-rj45-2km](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/38952688-multimode-sc-gigabit-fiber-media-converter-to-ethernet-rj45-2km) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-08*
