Avoid replacement delays: check your battery's charging needs, port size and polarity. Output: 42V/2A. Round plug: approx. 5.5 mm (0.22 in) OD. **Q: Why does a 36V battery use a 42V charger?** A: 36V is nominal battery voltage; many 36V lithium-ion packs need 42V charging. Replacement batteries may differ. Before ordering, we can check your device and battery details against our compatibility database to help identify a suitable charger. **Q: Why does the plug fit and the light stay green, but the battery does not charge?** A: A green light alone does not confirm charging. Long storage, a replaced battery or mismatched charging voltage may cause charging problems. Share your device model and battery label through Amazon. Our specialists can help assess compatibility. **Q: Is warmth normal during charging? Can I charge overnight?** A: Some warmth can occur. Over-temperature protection is built in, and current tapers as the battery nears full. Per CPSC guidance, never charge unattended or while asleep. Keep dry and ventilated; unplug when charging is complete. **Q: What should I do if the charger stops working after a period of use?** A: We have specialized in power adapter manufacturing since 2016. If your charger stops working, stop using it. Share your device model, battery label and symptoms through Amazon so our experienced team can help troubleshoot the issue. ## Frequently Bought Together - 42V 2A Charger Replacement for Electric Scooter Compatible with GOTRAX GXL V2, G2, G3, G4, Apex, Glider, XR Elite, XR Ultra 36V Lithium-ion Battery - Mcglsen 50/75-6.1 Scooter Tire Tube Replacement 8.5 Inch Tire Tube for Gotrax Gxl V2/Xiaomi/M365 Etc Electric Scooter 81/2x2 Pneumatic Tyre Replacement Wheels (1 Set) - AR-PRO (2 Pack) 8.5'' x 2" Inner Tubes Compatible with for Xiaomi M365, Gotrax 50/75-6.1 Electric and Gas Scooters, Pocket Bikes, Mobility Scooters - Extra Thick 2.0mm Butyl Rubber --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/383592623-vhbw-42v-2a-charger-for-electric-scooters-and-bikes-36v](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/383592623-vhbw-42v-2a-charger-for-electric-scooters-and-bikes-36v) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-11-04*
