I bought a cheaper 6" set, and the locking ridges are, quite frankly, not very good. These , however, lock the bar securely. They are heavy, well constructed, and, despite the cheaper set, have rubber feet. Great value for money. Why has it taken me 40 years to invest in these clamps? Well, I am an amateur DIY'er, and you always make do, don't you. But, I am fed up of making do. For safety alone, how I have not stabbed myself with chisels, or chopped off limbs using jigsaws, I will never know. I bought these for a Black and decker workmate, because however hard you try, you can't secure a piece of timber in the jaws for love or money. These will be perfect. For cutting accuracy, and for safety. Quick release, and very easy to use. I would highly recommend.
