Review: It’s Pretty Basic - To be direct, I really liked the consistency of this foundation. It almost feels like it’s a whipped foundation. It has a definite creaminess that is really great. The coverage is also really nice. It is a matte foundation, and it nicely covers any flaws that exist on the skin. It does feel slightly heavy, however. But, as time goes by, it’s not too bad. I have worn other foundations that felt lighter, and that is a big plus in my book. But matte coverage is just that—matte coverage. I was expecting a product that would cover facial blemishes and imperfections. So in terms of delivering a flawless look, this makeup is really ideal. The big complaint that I have, though, is that this foundation does not accurately address my golden undertones. When applied, it initially looks perfect. But, in natural light, it looks flat. What I mean is that it doesn’t have the golden undertones that I need. At times, it actually looks gray in relation to my actual skin. I don’t have to tell you that I no longer wear this makeup. The next thing that I need to mention is that is feels a bit dry on the skin. It’s not very moisturizing at all. That’s a negative for me. To add to that, since the right shades are not available for me as a woman of color, I definitely won’t be buying this foundation again. However, I’m open to considering another purchase if they address the issues that I’ve already stated. I’m always open to improvements.
