The hood is huge, bigger than the picture suggests but it didn’t bother me. I wore it all night for a party and didn’t overheat, it’s definitely not a warm cardigan. The quality is okay, not sure how well it would hold up to daily wear but it’s great for a costume or cosplay. I watched the Assassin's Creed movie with him, earlier this year, and fell in love with the coats' style they were wearing. It is a thinner fabric and unlikely to be very warm if you plan on hanging around outside in colder weather. I'll be wearing it indoors, for the most part. I got a green one for a Renn Faire last year and bought another in black just for me. The fabric is lightweight and breathable with a little bit of stretch. I bought a large and an XL. Both fit fine, but the XL hangs nicer on me (6 ft, 200lbs). And the hood is HUGE. I have never had a hood hang this well without some kind of support lining.Drawbacks are pretty few and simple. It doesn't stay closed on its own. (Get a decorative safety pin to keep it shut.) The material is also not period-accurate. If you are getting this for a costume, it is clearly a modern fabric. It is also a somewhat feminine cut. We are firmly in gender-neutral territory, but I think women will have an easier time styling this garment.
