I set the height to the lowest setting, 7/8" clearance off the ground surface, using the wheel bolt slots in the ends of the magnet-box. Max height looks to be 1 7/8" but the pick-up strength would be proportionately less at the higher settings. For uneven ground the 2' wide magnet may be better than the 3' unit I was sent. I really hope the manufacturer has improved the handle length adjustment system however.
