What saved it was being packed with other things in our Amazon order. The rope was hot glued and there was some glue strings on the glass that came off easily. We are happy with it and it will serve the purpose for shell display. Amazon, for real, this is not your first rodeo; how hard is it to actually pad something for shipping?The box itself would have been nice but for the cheap brass hinges that wobbled and were barely nailed in, and the little decorative rope around the glass looked like a 6-year-old had glued it down.
