Review: Great Way to Extend Mounting from a Wall Stud - Used this "routed edge" small board to center a TV mount on a small wall between a wall and a window. I wanted to "center" the TV but the mounting stud was off center by about 2.5". So, I mounted this piece of wood to the stud, and then mounted the TV mount to this wood, allowing me to center the TV on the wall. The added benefit is that the heavy metal mount won't gouge into the sheetrock and when removed, I just have to fill a few small screw holes. The item came well sanded and professional looking. I chose not to stain or finish the wood because it won't show behind the TV.

Used this "routed edge" small board to center a TV mount on a small wall between a wall and a window. I wanted to "center" the TV but the mounting stud was off center by about 2.5". So, I mounted this piece of wood to the stud, and then mounted the TV mount to this wood, allowing me to center the TV on the wall. The added benefit is that the heavy metal mount won't gouge into the sheetrock and when removed, I just have to fill a few small screw holes. The item came well sanded and professional looking. Wood seems good quality, but be cautious if size matters. Title says 6x8 inches. Details say 0.75 x 6.54 x 8.54 inches. I needed this as a backing for a 6x6 sign. Unfortunately it is 6x8 *including the beveled edge*, not 6.54x8.54. The usable surface is 5.5x7.5 inches.
