Review: Nice updated look - I'm updating a bathroom and needed to replace the trim kit on a 20-ish year old Monitor 17 tub/shower valve from shiny brass to brushed nickel. After all these years the valve worked fine, it was just dated. At first I bought the trim kit for the valve only. But, after shopping around for the overflow, tub spout, and shower pipe and head I found this combination kit to be much cheaper than buying the pieces. So, I returned the first kit and got this instead. Installation: Delta has an excellent installation video on youtube It's pretty straightforward but I was still a bit apprehensive because of the hot water stop. Turned out that was pretty easy to deal with; I had to guess on the position and got it at almost no hot the first time but nailed it when I adjusted it. Looks: Very attractive and the brushed nickel matches the sink faucet in that bathroom perfectly. Amazing how it made a big change in the looks of the room. I should note that this kit takes on fingerprints and smudges. But, since you're normally just going to be using the handles this isn't a big deal for me. Very pleased.

Installation: Delta has an excellent installation video on youtube It's pretty straightforward but I was still a bit apprehensive because of the hot water stop. Turned out that was pretty easy to deal with; I had to guess on the position and got it at almost no hot the first time but nailed it when I adjusted it. Looks: Very attractive and the brushed nickel matches the sink faucet in that bathroom perfectly. Amazing how it made a big change in the looks of the room. I should note that this kit takes on fingerprints and smudges. But, since you're normally just going to be using the handles this isn't a big deal for me. Very pleased.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great, but does show smudges

We bought the Delta Lahara to replace our old chrome tub/shower fixtures in our hall bath. The bathroom gets very occasional use for overnight guests. The new fixture is such a great improvement over the old one! We really like how it’s possible to select the right temperature and then leave the handle positioned to return to that setting for the next shower usage. The shower head delivers great water pressure and it all just looks so much more updated and stylish over our old builder’s grade fixture. My only complaint, the reason I rated it 4 stars instead of 5, is the fact that unlike all our other brushed nickel fixtures this one does easily smudge and it is slightly darker more like a pewter shade. I was aware of these issues, thanks to other reviewers, but we liked the price, the overall style and the temperature setting feature so I am okay with a few smudges and a slightly darker color. When we remodeled our master bathroom we went with more expensive, higher end shower fixtures and I haven’t been as happy with them so I appreciate the value of Delta and am satisfied with the quality of it so far.
