Review: Takes a minute but they're awesome - Quick pros and cons 1. The cable between the two speakers is ~5ft long. This is great for me I have a 2-monitor set-up and I needed to find a pair with a cable long enough to put them on either side. These do that with room to spare. 2. The sound is clear. It actually took me by surprise. My last pair were a little more bassy so I thought something was off but really it's just better sound reproduction. I do a lot of audio recording (voiceovers for videos, podcasting) and my voice sounds good on these. It also captures reverb very well (damn reverb, need to upgrade my audio set up next!) 3. These sound nice. The highs aren't bad, the mids aren't bad, and the bass isn't bad. I mean they're not like amazing great but these are also $25 speakers. This is probably the best noise I've ever gotten out of $25 speakers. 4. My last pair of speakers were USB powered and I grew to hate that. These are AC powered (6ft long power cable) and that makes me happy. 5. The volume has a good, high quality feel to it. 6. The speakers are deceptively light and made of plastic, but they look really nice with my whole set up. 7. The 2.5" drivers per speaker definitely do their job. Also, these speakers can get pretty loud before getting all nasty sounding. Not like rattle-the-windows loud, but definitely louder than you'll need them to be. Cons 1. The tone knob is rubbish. Put it in the center and use your computer's system equalizer if you need to mess with it. 2. These things are huge! Easily the size of my forearm. I wasn't expecting them to be that large. It ended up not being a problem (hence no stars removed). 3. Read other thoughts Other Thoughts These things take a bit to "burn in". I had them shipped and it's winter time so they may have just been cold but the first couple of hours I spent tweaking every setting on my computer trying to figure out why everything sounded so muted. The bass sounded fine, but the mids and highs sounded a tad muffled (like the sound you get when you put your hand over a speaker. I turned the music off, reset everything to default (where I had started from) and let them chill for a few hours. Then, while I was out, I put them up on moderate volume and, without messing with any equalizers, put some music on and left them playing for 5 or so hours. Once they warmed up and got a little burn in, they sounded much better. For most cases I use default on all the system noises but in Winamp I chose a preset that boosts the bass and treble a little bit. Even when burnt in, the lows and bass need a little boosting to keep up with the mids. Now I'm quite happy with how everything sounds. They require a little work, but once you get them settled in these are a fantastic pair of speakers and probably among the best you can get until you start getting into 2.1 speakers. *****Update August 1st, 2014***** I bought a second pair of these speakers. My girlfriend's speakers died and I gave her the original ones I bought (still going strong after 7 months) and I bought myself another pair. This time it was shipped during the summer so the speakers weren't submitted to the harsh, frigid cold of winter time like the first pair. Thanks to this, the problems I experienced the first time around were much less pronounced and much easier to fix. The "burn-in" wasn't really required at all and once I got the volume and such configured everything worked pretty well. It took me about a day with the first pair but this time around it only took a couple of hours of use before they sounded good. I guess that means most of the problems were simply because they were cold when I first plugged them in. It keeps its 5 star rating. I have bought two of these and would buy a third. I'll update if either of these break down but until then, I'm still happy with my purchase. Still gets my vote on the best $25 speakers around. I'd say I'd buy them again but I just kind of did so yeah I'd probably buy them a third time. *****Update May 6th, 2015***** Happened to be goofing around notice that this was the highest rated review. Cool! So I thought I'd do an update. Both sets of these speakers still work flawlessly (my girlfriend's pair that I gave her and my current pair). They both still sound great. If these broke, I would still buy these over again (unless, of course, I had like some serious cash to spend on a serious set of speakers). I still do my audio recordings, albeit on much better hardware than before. My recordings still sound great on these. I've had no problems with them whatsoever. They survived moving without breaking and a fried motherboard without flinching. I still recommend these to people :) *****Update December 18th, 2016***** Still the best ~$25 speakers out there. Both pairs still work after years of use. These days I have to keep the sound down as my roommate works night shift so these actually didn't get used for about 10 months (been using headphones). Turned em on and cranked em up a bit and it's the same old speakers I remember. Again, I proclaim, that unless I'm spending serious money on serious speakers, these are still my cheap go-to speakers. So happy they still sell these. *****Update December 16, 2017***** Still own these. They still work now 3 years later. They're basically permanent placements on my desk. I would still recommend these to anyone looking for good, cheap speakers. *****Final update: January 26, 2024****** Friends, my 10 year extravaganza has come to an end. They worked great, and technically, they actually still work. However, one of the speakers blew and cackles at anything other than low volume. I replaced them with a pair of Edifier MR4 because it's been 10 years and it's time for some big-boy speakers. I will miss these Logitechs. The best $25 speakers I ever had.
Review: Great price, great product, great sound. - Allow me to just start out by saying that I'm just your average Joe. I will boldly say that if you read this review all the way through you will probably have the best idea of whether this is right for you. I'm a senior in college and don't have money to just throw away, not yet at least. Nothing makes me happier than when I can say that I found a deal. I guess I get that from my dad. I'm really not the kind of person who just says "Yeah, five stars!!! Bestest product of all time!!!" something has to be incredibly worthy or terrible to get me to write a review about it. Haha, luckily for Logitech, the former applies to these speakers and everything they advertised about this product is well deserved. Let me paint the picture. I was looking for some quality speakers and my limit was about 30 or 40 dollars. I'm not looking for studio quality speakers (although I would say that these are great mid-tiers), just something better than my built in speakers on my monitor. I saw these online and no matter where I went, I would keep gravitating back towards them. My caveat that makes me unique is that I was looking for a two speaker only setup with great sound; I already have my desktop down below the desk by my big 'ol feet and I would be fighting for room with a sub-woofer down there as well. That being said, these two big guys offer about the best sound short of buying a subwoofer equipped setup. I'm not being biased when I say they were actually more than what I hoped for. For about $25 you get two large speakers with more than enough cable room to put them wherever you want on your desk and great sound. As I read when considering buying these, someone wrote that they're about the size of two red bricks, and they are about spot on. Go outside and find two bricks and put them on your desk; that's about the right size, maybe even a bit bigger. To me, the size is nothing but a plus but I can understand why some wouldn't want large speakers. They look almost intimidating sitting here looking like I paid a lot more for them than I did and the size helps Logitech make good on their word that they pump out quality bass. The bass is solid, about the best I've heard in non-subwoofer setups. Yeah, you could have better bass, but not in just two speakers like these unless you go Bose or something. There is an adjustment wheel on the right speaker that you're going to just want to turn all the way up. It boosts the bass and treble very well. I've never had to take them past about half power on the sound nob except to test them right now. There's no static sound that I can hear no matter how high I go up, and that treble sound that fills the room when listening to music is incredible. In the end, I can't really think about any negatives that are worth mentioning. The do exactly what they are supposed to do. They sound great when I play games or music, and have an ambiance quality to them like you've put on headphones on and want to be left alone. Granted, I've only had these for about two weeks but I have a feeling they will last a long while. Heck, for the price they could last six months and you'd probably get your money's worth. If you want a more expensive setup with surround sound and deep bass then you're not looking in the right place, but I would imagine the sound I'm hearing would cost me about $40, not $25, so I don't see how you could be disappointed with these speakers.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: how big are these speakers?**
A: Just measured them: H9.5"xW3.5"xD4", the speakers themselves are advertised as 2.5" diameter

**Q: Do they have a cord to plug into wall jack?**
A: Yes. That is how the built-in amplifier is powered. Speakers come with two cords - one plugs into your audio out jack on your monitor or cpu and the other cord plugs into a standard wall jack.

**Q: How long is the cable that connects the two speakers?**
A: 3.5mm audio connector: 4 feet
Speaker-to-speaker: 6 feet
Power: 6 feet

**Q: do these work for elderly who don,t wanr to turn their tv
how
do they work for elderly w/poor hearing for their tv?**
A: We purchased these for an elderly friend who wanted to hear her TV without her hearing aids in. She says that they are loud enough, but that she can't control the volume from her remote. Some TVs (like my Vizio) have a setting in the menu that determines whether the TV volume switches also control the audio output. The TV we purchased this for doesn't have this feature; the output volume is constant. So, she has to get up and move the knob on the speakers to change the volume. I'd have to check with her but I believe "mute" still works from the remote.Depending on your TV, you may need an adapter to plug it in.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Vary good, but not as good as Logitech X-140.
*by T***. on August 15, 2014*

I would like to right this review based on the price and the style. To many reviews say "spend $XX more and get this" or "2.1 setup is better". I will assume that if you are looking at these speakers you know how much money you want to spend and are looking at a 2.0 setup because you want a 2.0 setup. I purchased these for my girlfriends computer that is used for light gaming, music, and streaming Netflix. These are replacing a set of $10 Cyber Acoustics CA-2012 2.0 speaker that died. She tried using the built in speakers on her monitor but they were really quite and sad sounding. So she asked for replacement speakers and so i looked to Logitech due to good experience i have had with there $30 Logitech X-140 2.0 Speakers, that i use at work, and my amazing $200 Logitech Z-2300 2.1 THX speakers on my gaming computer. Pros -Looks these look fantastic for the price. -They sound vary good at this price point. Miles way from the $10 speaker and light years way from the monitor speakers. -The cable connecting the speaker together is plenty long for most single/duel monitor setups. (it is permanently attached) -At this price/size you cant hope for more bass -Can push the volume to fill a large room with sound without distortion (just don't expect to shake the walls) -Volume button is large and feels like it is well constructed. Cons -These don't sound quite as nice as the Logitech X-140 2.0. The X-140 have a more balanced/defined sound. - ½ star -at low volume the (quite office listening volumes) sounds a little muffled. - ½ star -Tone button is cheap, poorly placed. - ½ star -Light/cheap feeling plastic construction, but fit and finish is nice. The X-140 have a heavier plastic and metal mesh grill. -They are vary light, Deceptively light given there size. They can easily be pushed/pulled around on a desk. Something to keep in mind if you have cats or a vary busy desk. Other things -This has a AC adapter that is similar in size to a cell phone charger the plugs into the back of the speakers. Its not vary long 4'-5' i would guess. In closing these are vary good speakers. I would defiantly recommend them to anyone but i would also have them look at the Logitech X-140. The Z200 win the looks, and X-140 win the sound. I don't think you will go wrong with ether of them, but if i were to get another 2.0 set it would be the X-140.
