We've been religious about fitting LED replacement bulbs, so initially replaced all the halogen bulbs in the hood with claimed extra-bright LED's. Complaints from mrs dr bob about LED brightness and color brought me back to halogens. These bulbs came compactly packaged, at a very good price especially compared with buying them locally in retail packaging. They are comparable to the Bosch bulbs originally fitted. I went ahead and replaced all the bulbs in the hood, and expect another decade of performance from them. When these start to fail then, I'll still have enough to replace the wholes set again. I don't expect to buy another set, assuming I remember to look in the spare-bulbs bin for that next round. The economics: Numbers people will explain that it makes no sense to invest in future value more than about six years out, based on current interest rates. Meanwhile, having spares in hand for the few dollars adds a comfort factor that I won't need to go shopping for them again when the next one fails. It's a really cheap "comfort" factor.

**Q: Are these suitable for outdoor landscape lighting use?**
A: I use them in a waterproof housing under water in a water feature in our back deck. I think general outdoor use would depend more on the housing than on the bulb itself.

**Q: Is this dimmable ?**
A: It is an incandescent bulb, so yes, it should be dimmable.

**Q: Can this be used in my lava lamp? next to where the bulb is inserted it says to use g4 120v 35w type bulbs. thanks in advance.**
A: No. The Vstar bulb is 12 Volts not 120 volt. Check that the base of a replacement bulb is the same base as the original in the lava lamp.

**Q: Does anyone know the kelvin on these?  are they bright white or horrible yellow?**
A: Sorry, no idea what the Kelvin rating might be but the light they give off is bright white.
