However, in 3 and 4mm bands, the engraving will be rather small, because of the available space, so picking an appropriate font for the letters is very important. Lasers make this many times easier than doing it the old fashioned way, and they offer many more options for fonts and symbols. Avoiding fonts that use lots of swirls and curlicues will make it easier to read. Conversely, using simple block or very un-swirly letters will be much easier to read. Having the engraving "colored," if available, will make it stand out more against the background. Check around, and find preferably an independent jeweler (not a "mall" or chain type store) who has a bench jeweler and/or a trained individual who does laser engraving on site.
