The good variety of beam lengths meant that I was able to build almost the entire case with the standard parts, and only had to cut down four pieces. If only I had known earlier that some (if not all) of the brackets for smaller MakerBeam system will work with the MakerBeam XL system. I definitely could have used some of those in my design had I know that they would work! MakerBeam will be my "go-to" system on future projects where the expense is warranted; I would use it on EVERYTHING, except that the cost of all of those little parts really adds up! I would love to keep a whole drawer full of these components on hand to tinker with whenever I think up some crazy idea, but they are a little too pricey to be able to do that. I usually like to buy a few extra parts when I am working on a project like this; having extra parts enables me to explore other options that I may not have thought of in the original design. These beams are perfect for my 3D printer project and worked perfectly with my existing kit from formbot.
