Review: Cleared up fish lice fast — actually works - I noticed a few of my fish scratching against the decor and spotted what looked like tiny lice on a couple of them, so I picked this up after some research. Followed the dosing instructions based on my tank size and started treatment right away. Within the first couple days I could already see a difference — much less scratching and flashing behavior from the affected fish. By the end of the treatment cycle, the lice were completely gone and my fish have been back to normal, active and eating well. I was a little nervous since I have a mixed community tank, but I didn’t lose any fish and didn’t notice any stress reactions beyond the initial dosing day. Just make sure to read the label carefully if you have crustaceans or shrimp in your tank, since it’s not safe for them. Water stayed clear throughout treatment too, no cloudiness or smell issues like I’ve had with other medications. Would definitely buy again if I ever run into this problem — glad I didn’t wait longer to treat it.

I purchased Microbe-Lift, switched out the carbon filter cartridge for plain aquarium filter floss, changed one-quarter of the water, and then added a half tablespoon of Microbe-Lift to the tank. The treatment is recommended for three weeks, but I did it for four just to be on the safe side (anchor worm life cycle lasts up to 25 days). Did a partial water change every week and added another half tablespoon of Microbe-Lift each time. Sadly, the infected Endler didn’t survive, but one month later there isn’t an anchor worm to be found. Didn’t lose any more tank inhabitants -- Remaining fish, snails and plants are all fine and thriving.

The medicine is meant for gold fish but I used it on my guppies in a diluted measurement. I did have to repeat the treatment multiple times and only the very skinny and weak ones died. They seem to get better after it.

After first 4 days saw visible worms dying (still attached- they were flaccid and changing color) Prior to purchase, I had read all the reviews-the science paper on the mechanism of handling Lice/Anchor Worms, and I recalled one person who thought it didnt work till he pulled the worm off the fish. So, i grabbed the biggest fish (mine are small) and tweezed it off--sure enough it was dead-slippery goo!! YIPPPEEEEE The others are way too small to tweeze off, so I will run full course and hope the dead bodies just drop off cuz they are unsightly. *Note for the angry fellow submerging lice in this solution--stating it doesnt work--the bottle CLEARLY states its not a poison per say, but kills them through drying out the crustacean skin over time--(osmosis of drying agents soaking crustaceans0 -It is odd some people dont read the instructions and just do things and complain about the product due to their lack of data! Added bonus---its handling my mystery snail explosion and I am so happy!! Those things reproduce like 30 rabbits all at once!!!
