One cup of grains with 2 1/2 cups of water, 1/4 tsp salt. Set it to brown rice or cook it like regular rice. NO PRESOAK! You might need three cups of water. These look good on your plate with the rest of your meal. Recently I didn't have a full cup of rye berries left in the bag. (I use the 8 oz cup for the whole grains, and the Japanese cup (6 oz) that comes with the rice cooker for any rice. ) I mixed the rye berries with brown rice, calculating the water for each amount of grain.
