It contains the current thinking of the famous Arthur Frommer regarding the ten major western European countries to which Americans travel. The preeminent authority on world travel, Arthur Frommer sets forth the pros and cons of each country, the major reason why each would be chosen or disregarded, and the key attractions and activities to consider. It also contains a lengthy preface by him dealing with western Europe as a whole, summing up the reasons why we travel there and what we should not miss. It is centered around what I find to be valuable, lengthy excerpts from the key Frommer travel guides dealing with each nation or region, including the top selections of hotels, restaurants, shops and sights by Frommer's foremost authors--all people who actually live in the areas being covered. Just recently the New York Times featured "Arthur Frommer's Europe" in their list of potential gifts to a Europe-bound Americans, which is excellent advice!
