Before I had the smaller ones, but they didn't have them in stock anymore at the time I needed to order. These are HUGE, but he manages with them. I actually like them better now because the smaller ones would get pretty small and I'd find them under his aquarium wood where he wasn't getting at them; these say right out in plain sight. EDIT: My advise is not to buy these Giant blocks at this time. I ordered some over a year ago and received the mini blocks. My Pleco loved the mini blocks and they stood firm until he finished them. The order I now received are the Giant blocks. These cloud my water and though my large Pleco does love them, he eats them and leaves behind a lot of pink stringy potty mess that turns to a cloudy powder. Some of the powder sticks to the inside of my aquarium and the rest of it mixes with the water and it looks like the aquarium hasn't been cleaned in like forever. I clean my aquarium every week to 12 days, and I take real pride in how it looks. So I'm now only giving my Pleco one of these giant blocks the day before I clean the aquarium, that way the aquarium only looks disgusting and cloudy for one day. I have 2 large boxes of these, I'll keep one because I've used some out of it, and the other I'm going to try to return. I will order them again IF a product is sold that lives up to the description of what is being sold. I tried to return the second box. It's been too long and seller wouldn't accept the return. The box is going in the garbage. Review: Great product - Works as expected. The extended release food? No. you need better water flow. **Q: Will this work with Guppies? I have 2 Guppie in q 3-gallon tank** A: Yes it will. I use this with my guppies in a 10 gallon. This might be very strong in only 3 gallons of water. **Q: I have 1 goldfish, anout 2 inches long, in a 6 gallon tank with filter. Will this work for an 8 day trip?** A: goldfish are voracious eaters and huge depositors of waster. I would suggest you get one large 10 day feeder. Take out what's left over. BTW these works much better with water flow and filtration. if you have none, buy yourself the smallest sponge filter and small pump. BTW that fish likely will get longer if it has a comet type body or bigger and rounder if it's a fan tail so start thinking now where your 10 or 15 gallon tank will. I have a dozen goldfish in a 125 with both canister and over the back filtration and that works fine. have a nice trip **Q: will this be ok for one beta fish??** A: I think they make different/special food for betas. I bought this for a guppy. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mr. Pleco LOVES these and they are good for him!! *by S***T on July 5, 2018* My Pleco LOVES these. Been using over 20 yrs ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Did the Job! *by N***N on November 5, 2021* I was worried as I was leaving town and wasn’t sure how if my fish would eat them, so I did a trial run the week before. It lasted the full 3 days, didn’t cloud my tank or add extra residue, and the fish seemed to like them! Plopped one in, went away, had someone else plop another one in mid-trip, and when I came back, it was gone and my fish seemed well fed and happy. Will definitely purchase again! ## Frequently Bought Together - Zoo Med Laboratories AZMBB2 Mini Banquet Block Feeders, 12 Count - Zoo Med Laboratories Giant Banquet Block Feeder (3 Pack) - Aqueon Vacation Feeders 7 Day - 1 Pack --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/35119804-zoo-med-laboratories-mini-banquet-block-feeders-12-count](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/35119804-zoo-med-laboratories-mini-banquet-block-feeders-12-count) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-01*
