Review: awesome strap - pulled two trucks out of deep sand today. 1 rubicon, driven by kids, who didn't air down. I sat back and watched them dig for a few minutes with their hands ( they didn't have a shovel either, but hey they're kids). after showing them how to air down, and supervising them shovel the sand around the tires ( with my shovel, and no, I'm not shoveling), I hooked up my truck (2019 Tacoma off-road) I attached the strap to the Rhino shackle hitch (another awesome product) and with 1 good tug, got them out. Lots of thanks from the kids and they were on their way. On my way off the beach after having no luck fishing in the surf, I see a chevy silverado, also buried to the floor boards and these folks ( a very nice family) waved me down and asked for help. So I say what the hell, I got out and helped these folks also. They had no decent recovery point on the front of the truck. Just a bull bar and that thing would have came right off or would have bent if I tried to pull them out that way. So I used the hitch, slid the strap into the hitch and used a hitch pin to fasten the rope inside the hitch. Worked like a charm . This is an awesome strap by ARB. It should definitely be a part of your recovery gear, along with a shovel, a couple of rated shackles and a hi-lift jack, and some max-traxx treads. If you purchase this you won't be disappointed. Review: Based on first impression - As of now I have yet to use it. I want to be clear this review is based off my first impression. I bought this snatch strap because I have a few tow straps and needed something with a little bit of stretch to it. I bought the 30ft 2 3/4inch strap for my car. I like the bright orange color and the sleeve is a nice protective layer to the strap. Very well made and highly durable. I had been looking for this exact strap for a while and couldn’t find it. But once I came across it I took advantage and bought it. I do think it’s a little pricey however you’re paying for the stretching technology so I guess it’s worth the extra money. I will update once I use it or if problems arise.

**Q: Can the strap be stored in the car long term? Will the sun make the fiber brittle?**
A: The strap is pretty heavy duty but I'm not sure about direct sunlight.  Usually keep it in a bin or under the seat.

**Q: This is the weakest arb snap strap, but still seems too strong for midsize trucks (~4400 lb) given the 2-3x rule. will this work for a midsize truck?**
A: I have a tacoma (3rd gen) and I have pulled full sized pickups like tundras and 1500 series dodge and Chevy trucks.  I even pulled out a dually whose operator did not have enough common sense to air down on the beach ( he shouldn’t have been there anyway, those trucks use rated tires which have extremely stiff sidewalls).  Ive pulled full size suvs and land rovers also.  I haven’t had one problem with this strap.  I’m sure there are other manufacturers with similar ratings but I can say that this strap has never failed in pulling someone out in sand up to the floorboards.  I’m not a spokesperson for ARB , I can only say it works.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The right gear goes a long way

We live where there is a braided glacial fed river full of silt, and an annual snowfall of around 8 feet. There's no desert here, so don't ask me about sand, but I have multiple recoveries a year in snow/ice and river silt conditions. I have used cheaper alternatives to recovery gear, and they just do not work as well. With a shovel, Maxtrax, an ARB snatch strap, hitchlink, and a couple of shackles, we've recovered everything that's gotten stuck to date. The ARB snatchstrap is not a tow rope, it loads like a bungee cord and "springs" the other vehicle out. It is just long enough to position the recovery vehicle in any scenario we've come across, including on two different sides of a tributary. The ARB strap coils tight enough to fit in a "small-ish" kit bag with the other recovery kit items except the Maxtrax and shovel. I bought one for the Side by Side, one for the Adventure Van, and one for the Overland/Work/Rescue/Daily-driver Truck. Learn how to use it properly to avoid damage to one of your vehicles, and it is an idespensable piece of gear. Clean it after use and let it dry, and inspect it when it's out. My original one (about 3 years old) has some fraying on the nylon but is still very usable. If the Maxtrax don't work, this gets pulled out right away. During plowing season, I just leave one hooked up to the plow to pull it out of the snowbanks over and over again. Buy one. Buy two, and don't look back.
