The outer ring was a little tricky but if you don't tighten all the outside fastening hardware and you leave it a bit loose you can get the ring together much easier. I drilled a few holes on the bottom so water comes out and doesn't sit and rust the container ring. Worth the money. Looks good when the stars and moon are lit by the flames. Came with a cover. I sprayed it with water repellent for a little extra protection.

**Q: Can I buy a grill ring for this?**
A: I don’t see why not. We’ve only done hotdogs and marshmallows with sticks. Fire may be too close for a grill but not out much to try it.

**Q: How thick is the steel?**
A: Sorry I can’t give you a specific thickness but I can tell you it is ok/decent. Sturdy but not too heavy you can’t relocate whenever. It does not “flex” in like thin sheet metal when you push against it. Also I can’t push in the edges of the decorative stars along the sides. Note there is a wire mesh on the inside to prevent large embers from coming out. The top edge is rolled over, i guess to give it additional strength/rigidity and the bottom sounds thicker when I tap it. I would still recommend painting with hi heat rust proof paint to ward off rusting. Hope that helps.

The fire it itself is adorable and works great. We enjoyed having friends over or family nights around it in the summer. However, the cover is so cheap and ripped apart all over within a few months. Because of that the inside started getting full of water (there’s no drainage) and the bottom has already started rusting.
