Review: Rummo has become my go to pasta brand - I’ve been eating supermarket own brand pasta but thought I’d give these a go after hearing that these are real pasta. I was really skeptical at first but wow I can really notice the difference. It consistently cooks to a true al dente texture with firm to the bite. The surface is slightly rough, which makes sauces cling to the pasta. There’s also a noticeable wheaty flavour. All of these things have elevated my pasta, especially when using san mazanno tomatoes. These are more expensive compared to supermarket brands, however the differences are clear and make it worth it.

In short it has a great texture and holds a sauce. If making a bolognaise sauce, use the Rummo pappardelle pasta; never use spaghetti for a bolognaise sauce. Instead, use the spaghetti for a dish like Alio e olio - it works beautifully.

Perfect linguine has that rough outside surface to make the sauce coat it everywhere rather than cheap linguine that the sauce slips off because it’s a bit slimey. This linguine is perfect for sauce adhesion and the price is much better than you would pay in the shops. I have it delivered every month so I don’t run out. My children literally love all Italian food so it’s very much appreciated in our house!! Tastes amazing too.
