## Questions & Answers

**Q: Could you please specify all the recommended products that i might need to assembly and make work this robot arm?**
A: The arm and gripper have no intelligence to make them work.  At a minimum you will need to have a power source (batteries or power supply)  to power the arm's electric motors and you could wire push-buttons to let you manually turn the various motors on and off. But normally you would use either an Arduino uno single-board computer and its native contact input/output hardware to operate the arm and gripper motors automatically. For more advanced applications where you might want to add sensors to the arm and gripper you might consider a raspberry pi single board computer and a "pi plate" circuit card that add both contact inputs and outputs as well as analog inputs for sensor signals. Both approaches will involve learning a bit of programming and electrical wiring. There are good basic introductory books by Simon Monk that introduce you to programming and basic wiring using either the Arduino or raspberry pi.  If you are a beginner then I suggest getting one of these books and becoming familiar with one/both devices. You will also need some basic tools such as a wire cutter/stripper and a soldering iron and solder. There are starter kits of basic parts you may also want to buy that include resistors, LEDs, capacitors, transistors and other useful components. Good Luck!

**Q: How do we email to get instructions?  You say we have to email you (diymore), but what is your email address.  Google search didn't help.**
A: I also had no luck getting any help so I printed out all of the image views provided on the Amazon web site and just figured out how to put it together myself. Had to back up a few times and make some educated guesses as well.  I discovered that you will need 3-wire servo extension cables to provide enough slack for all of the cables to allow full range of movement. You also need to bolt the base to something heavy as the weight of the arm will cause it to fall over when extended. Also use greater torque servos on the two or three motors starting from the base as they support most of the arm's weight.  If you examine all the photo angles you can figure it out. Good luck!

**Q: can I use on raspberry pi?**
A: I think you could use it on raspberry pi. There are customers did it before. They bought a min Maesro controller from Pololu, runs fine using code for pi 4

**Q: Can the you controle with a rc radio ?**
A: With this product, all you get are the metal pieces and servos shown in the picture.  There is no control board or software.  I think you could control w/ RC radio but you'd need to provide that interface.

This robot arm is great for the hobbyist or DIY student. I can use mine with 3 - 4 AA battery packs or a variable power supply. I have used the arm with a micro-controller and written a controller program with Tkinter. I have read someone complain about the servo movement being jerky. That will not happen if you use small increments in the degrees. I increment the servos in 5 degree steps. But if you want finer accuracy you can use 1 or 3 degrees. 10 degrees at a time will give faster movement. I am working on a program for have the robot arm move player pieces for playing tic tac toe and chess. Worth the money and time to build if you are interested in learning about robotics.

Inventory of screws is inaccurate. Key steps are merely alluded to in pictures. Otherwise seems a decent kit for the price if you want to choose stronger servos but don't want to source all the other parts individually.
