The Söchting Oxydator D uses a patented ceramic catalyst and specially formulated solution to produce activated oxygen that instantly dissolves in aquarium water, improving water quality by neutralizing harmful contaminants and reducing algae growth. ## Description

Using a patented method, Söchting Oxydator produces normal and activated oxygen in the aquarium by means of Oxydator solution and special ceramic catalysts. The activated oxygen decomposes particularly putrid matters and toxicants and, thus essentially improves the well-being of fish and plants. Pure oxygen created by the Söchting Oxydator is mostly immediately dissolved in the water, so that there are hardly any bubbles produced. Due to the Oxydator's oxidizing capacity, the water quality will be improved and harmful contaminants in the water will be neutralised and In the summer, it is effective at fighting algae. The benefits of adding hydrogen peroxide to an aquarium in cases of acute oxygen deficiency, water putrefaction and water turbidity, have been known for a long time. The operating time and the amount of oxygen given off by the Söchting Oxydator D depend on the water temperature, the number of catalyst stones you use and the concentration of the oxydator solution. At a temperature of 25 °C, the Söchting Oxydator D will give off oxygen for a period of 2 - 4 weeks when equipped with one catalyst stone and filled with a 6% solution (please order separately). The filling level of the Oxydator can be monitored through the transparent plastic cylinder. The amount of oxygen that is given off depends on the water temperature. The higher the temperature, the more oxygen is produced, the lower the temperature, the smaller the amount of oxygen. Thanks to this phenomenon, your aquarium is always provided with the ideal amount of oxygen. The operating time of the Oxydator shortens or extends accordingly.

Review: Would recommend works well for what I use it for - I read somewhere that I could use this for it. I have a blue eye Kole Tang got Ick then my cleaner goby‘s got it from cleaning the tang. I read somewhere that I could use an oxidizer to help help kill the parasite in its larva stage or something. Fish has been alive for about two months now after having it and installing the oxidizer, it seemed to work for me, the tang is still alive. don’t take my word for using it to prevent ick It’s just what helped me.

This was recommended from some website as a way to reduce ick (not totally eradicate). First, the oxygenator device is quite simplistic. It’s a plastic cup and lid mounted in a piece of clay(?) which is used as a weight. There’s a tiny piece of what appears to be charcoal within the cup. The cup is filled with peroxide and as the peroxide is exchanged to water and gas, it’s released in the tank. I used 12% food-grade peroxide as instructed on the website. Anyways, I have to admit, though I was skeptical, this thing worked. After about a month, My tang is very well and maybe has one or two spots of ick and seems to be thriving very well. As recommended from the website, I also increased aeration as ick often attacks the gills and increased fish feeding to keep him healthy. I ran a UV sterilizer to help further reduce the free swimming ick and the last thing I did was add seachem stress guard as an antiseptic to heal damage from the ich. Again, it all worked and Im beyond the curve and he seems to be healing well with no visible spots. One more note, maybe from the UV or from the peroxide, but the tank is extra clean with no muck buildup on glass or in the filter. Good luck

A: Yes, anywhere in the tank or dump is fine though once it gets close to empty, has a tendency to float up and empty, high current may cause that to happen more.   I weight it with a rock.

### ⭐⭐ Need extra catalysts

Seemed like it was helping until my fish put crushed coral on it. I went to add more fluid and lost the catalyst. Can’t find replacements anywhere making this useless and a waste of money. Amazon needs to sell extra catalysts. And more than one should come with the oxydator. It’s really small and the same color at the plastic part. I was having a hard time taking it apart, when I lost the catalyst.
