Protects your cyclone filtration system from damage due to excessive vacuumpressure. Protects the plastic barrel of your cyclone filtration system from being crushed. DUST COMMANDER DUST-SP Consisting of a valve and an adjustable spring this device will automatically open to limit the maximum vacuum inside a plastic drum used with a cyclone separator and protect it from being crushed. This valve is recommended for use with DUST COMMANDER CLC, DLX and HD models mounted on plastic drums (60l max recommended). This valve is not useful for use with our DUST COMMANDER XL and XL+ filters as the vacuum generated by the HVLP (high volume, low pressure) systems is not sufficient to collapse a plastic or kraft drum. Also the DUST COMMANDER S30, S60, X30 and X60 steel drum kits do not require the use/installation of this valve as they are strong enough not to collapse in the event of a blockage in the suction nozzle or hose. WARNING: The spring must be set so that the valve remains closed in normal use and only opens when the suction hose or nozzle becomes blocked. The issue In normal operation, a slight vacuum (a few tens of mbar) is created inside the dust container/collector of a cyclonic filtration system. This vacuum is more or less important depending on the power of the hoover and the diameter of the pipes used. Under these conditions most plastic or kraft drums are strong enough not to deform. Unfortunately, in some cases, such as crushing or pinching the suction hose, the vacuum inside the collection drum can drop to -250mbar. This generates forces of several hundred kilos on the walls of the drum, which will collapse on itself very quickly. Our solution To solve this problem of using insufficiently rigid drums we have developed an anti-crush valve. Consisting of a valve and an adjustable spring, this device will open automatically to limit the maximum vacuum inside the collection vessel. Installation and adjustment is very easy: the valve should remain closed in normal use and should only open when the suction pipe is blocked.
