Probably medium roast, the grind is between Turkish and espresso, rich aroma but nothing fancy, not flavored, just a very good coffee roasted and ground as it should be done. I have tried dozens of the standard and small batch US and European brands, online orders, big stores, small stores, a fancy coffee store in Paris, preferably whole beans which I grind in a high-quality manual grinder right before brewing espresso or brewing Turkish style - and I keep returning to this one. Yes, it works in espresso machine, too. I wish they would sell the whole beans. Of note, I prefer light roast - this one probably qualifies as medium.
