I can't give this a good long term usage review because I've hardly used it, but I also have an ACE 300, and this detector has much better accuracy, probably due to the multi-frequency ability. It's about the same ease of use (maybe even slightly better) than the 300 I have. It's definitely light. Some other reviewers mention they don't like the rechargable battery, but with all of the things we recharge these days, I'm not sure why it's a problem. The manual claims 15 hours, and I don't know if that's accurate, but 15 hours and you'll be done anyway. Just go plug it into your phone charger. I only have one worry about the lithium battery, and that is that if it goes bad, is the detector disposable? I helped her set up her settings and showed her how to use the detector and let her go. She took 10 steps and said she found something... not even 30 seconds in she found a silver dime. I really wish I hadn't got her this detector! This thing works amazing. It sounds great, especially with the wireless headphones, and the tones are very clear making it easy to predict your targets. The only improvement I'd like to see is if it were fully waterproof.
