Review: Much more than a Portable Refrigerator - Came through in a crisis - Much more than a Portable Refrigerator I originally purchased the **EUHOMY 12 Volt Refrigerator, 48QT** for one purpose—a Fourth of July beach trip. My plan was to use it for that weekend and then occasionally for grocery runs or future road trips. Then life threw us a curveball. While we were away for the holiday, our refrigerator at home failed. When we got back, we suddenly had no working refrigerator while waiting for replacement parts and repairs. What was supposed to be a portable cooler suddenly became our family's primary refrigerator. For nearly three weeks now, this EUHOMY refrigerator has been running **24 hours a day, 7 days a week**, keeping our milk, dairy products, lunch meats, drinks, and other refrigerated items perfectly cold. It has maintained its temperature without issue and has never skipped a beat. I never expected a portable 12-volt refrigerator to be capable of handling full-time household duty, but this one has exceeded every expectation I had. It has turned what could have been a very stressful situation into little more than an inconvenience. **Q: can both sections of the unit be used as a freezer compartment down to -4 F?**
A: No, at room temperature ambient the refrigerator section will hover just above freezing when the freezer is set to -4F although it might frost delicate food placed there. Set temperature to  about 10F and it makes a proper refrigerator / freezer.

**Q: I would prefer to use the larger compartment for the refrigerator and the small compartment for the freezer. Is this possible, dual temp settings?**
A: This is not possible. The cooling coils only wrap around the large compartment and the smaller box is passively cooled. The smaller box will always be at a higher temperature.

**Q: How well does this work when outside temp is above 85 degrees F?**
A: My husband is a semi truck driver and I travel with him we use this refrigerator 24 seven it works wonderfully in warmer weather it keeps its temperature very well highly recommended. And we have been above 85° we’ve been in 100° however we are in the truck with air-conditioning so if you’re talking about 85° and plugging it outside somewhere I couldn’t help that answer

**Q: My jeep wrangler refuses to run ac when this unit is running. is this guaranteed not to kill my car battery if used when the car is running?**
A: I am using This Refrigerator with Jeep Grand Cherokee without any problems with the motor running or not. If your battery and alternator are in running order, you will have no issues. The refrigerator uses very little electrical power.

This refrigerator works just as well as the original models I've had over the years, but at a much cheaper price. I've been running it off solar in my van build and it's been incredibly efficient. The compressor is solid, cooling performance is right where it should be, and it doesn't pull excessive power even when you're depending on battery. I was skeptical about the price difference from the premium brands, but after months of use I can say this thing earns its spot in the van. It keeps food cold, the app control is useful, and it hasn't given me any issues. If you're looking for reliability without the premium price tag—especially if you're powering it off solar or limited battery capacity—this is the one to get.
