Once it is "factory oil free" then you need to season the WOK. There are many videos on Youtube to show you how. Basically you first heat the wok over a very hot flame (I use outdoor propane burner), and hit every spot on the wok. The wok will change color. You can tell if you hit every spot on the work by watching for the color change. Then rub a small amount of oil (canola or peanut oil work well). Then heat every spot on the wok again like you did before. I will usually then do a quick stir fry with very fatty pork (like pork belly) and green onion and garlic. This is thicker than most similar woks. That gives it good heat retention which is nice to have on a domestic stove. However, that also makes it heavy -- mine weighs 4.6 lb. The weight, combined with the long handle, makes the wok difficult to lift with one hand. I wish the metal part of the handle was shorter so I could grip it closer to the bowl -- that makes a surprising amount of difference in the ease of lifting the thing. The helper handle is essential on a wok this heavy.
