I received it last night and used it to make pizzas for lunch today. I am absolutely floored at how amazing the pizza dough turned out. Cooked the pizza in 4 minutes at 550°. The top wasn’t quite as brown as I like so for the second pizza I heated the oven to 550°, then turned on the broiler and allowed the Lodge to cook the dough while the broiler took care of the cheese on top. Crust came out sturdy golden brown on the bottom. Super crisp light and airy around the edges. As far as the quality, it is cast iron and very sturdy and it is larger in person than I expected. The surface was smoother than I thought it was going to be which was really nice as well. Cleanup is easy enough with hot water and a little gentle scrubbing. I would think so. Cast iron is awesome like that **Q: Can this be used on a cooking range/direct heat?** A: Yes it can. I like to start a dish on the stove top then put in the oven to finish. You can also use on a grill. **Q: How thick is it?** A: It’s roughly about 5/16 of an inch thick. It’s very durable and we love it. We have the former style Lodge pizza stone as well, we love both. They both provide us with performance that we have come to expect from all of our Lodge products! **Q: Will this work for crepes?** A: No, this will not work for crepes. Technically, you can make a crepe on it, but... a crepe requires a lighter pan, preferably teflon, and ability to flick it to toss crepe and reverse. Too heavy for that, handles all wrong, and no lip. Crepe requires a rolling motion to coat the pan, and a lip to keep batter from spilling - cannot do that here. Got some weight to it, so it sustains the warping, super easy to use and season, maybe 1/4 thick which is great! So far non stick with proper seasoning, and it weights maybe 10ish pounds. Would suggest you have a mat or a spacer to place it on after oven removal.
