They have a nice weight to them without being too heavy, and the thickness makes them feel sturdy and durable. Review: Nice and solid, not too big. - I got these to use as a splash/slosh saucer under my 20 oz coffee mug. I wanted something that was not too fragile, actually had a lip to contain spills, and wouldn't interfere with the handle on the mug. I use my coffee mug most on a small TV table by my recliner. Sometimes my bigger dog bumps into the table causing sloshes and spills. I got tired of her slopping coffee onto the books or papers that are also often on my table. This is the perfect solution. It also has a bit of a dimple in the middle, not as much as a regular saucer for a teacup, but enough to cradle the bottom of my mug and it sits securely in the plant saucer.
