All better wood acoustics use the same technique as it gives better resonant vibration across the top. If you look at the center seam, then proceed out on both sides the grain spacing / growth ring pattern is nearly identical. Solid top is used as opposed to plywood / laminated tops used in lower quality instruments. **Q: Yahama fg 830 is a dreadnought. other fg830's are bundled with accessories but are not dreadnoughts. same price. i'm a beginner. what to buy?** A: FG830 etc. is dreadnought size - no cutaway. FS is concert size (a bit smaller). The FG830C is cutaway. **Q: Is there a difference in sound quality between the Acoustic / Acoustic - Electric versions?** A: They will be very similar in sound - the only difference is that you can plug the acoustic/electric into an amplifier. Thank you. ## Frequently Bought Together - Yamaha FS830 Small Body Solid Top Acoustic Guitar, Tobacco Sunburst - CAHAYA 41 In Acoustic Guitar Bag 0.35 In Thick Padding Water Resistent Dual Adjustable Shoulder Strap Guitar Case Gig Bag with Back Hanger Loop, Black CY0152 - Amazon Basics Adjustable Folding Guitar Stand, A-shape, Fully Assembled - For School Music Program, Concerts & Multiple Users, Black --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/32622021-fs830-small-body-solid-top-acoustic-guitar-tobacco-sunburst](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/32622021-fs830-small-body-solid-top-acoustic-guitar-tobacco-sunburst) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-24*
