If you can’t tell, the name clip goes on the outside and plate with long stem should be on the inside. I suspect it would work all right if you did them backwards though. Also make sure the strap is oriented correctly - not backwards or upside down. Review: Work well, but require included metal loops - I bought these after my Crocs for Work straps broke and I couldn't buy a replacement from Crocs. These were more expensive than I was anticipating, but was really the only option I found so I went for it. I was hopeful that I could use the straps without removing the rivets and metal loops that my shoes had, but the straps this comes with were too wide to use the original built-in loops on the shoes. Once I replaced everything on the shoes with what came in this kit, everything fit properly and worked well and is very comfortable.
