I love the fact that it isn't made with polyester fabrics and plastics. Review: Initial review- seems to be a good, sturdy floss - I, like most people have a hard time following through on the habit of flossing. I've had the most luck with those little plastic pick flossers but feel guilty about the plastic waste every time I use one, which has me still neglecting the habit. After many months of considering these eco-friendly style flosses, I finally threw it in my cart and checked out. I've used it a few times and aside from needing to find the right length to tear off per use, it seems to be going really well! I have been flossing enough prior to this that I don't get sore or bloody gums usually, but did experience a little of that with this floss. I actually consider that a good thing as I often wondered if the ultra-thin floss I have been using was entirely effective. Comparing those to this new purchase, I feel confident in thinking that the flosser picks weren't doing as great a job as I had hoped and this bamboo floss is a total upgrade. I also haven't experienced any tearing or threads straying from the floss string, which was a small concern of mine. The quality seems pretty great, at least in the first several inches/feet that I've used up to now. I'll definitely stick to this product! I also appreciated their packaging. The glass dispenser came in a cardboard box with one roll of floss already inside it and the second roll boxed with it, wrapped in just a tiny bit of tissue paper. No wasteful plastic or adhesives present, aside from the desertcart mailer which can't really be avoided. It would be a tiny bit more aesthetic if there wasn't branding on the glass dispenser, but at the same time I'm glad to know which brand to turn to when I am ready to buy refills. Convenience wins out over my small desire to have an unbranded dispenser. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase and impressed with this vendor's packaging and their product quality. ## Features - TWO SPOOLS, 60 METERS TOTAL – Two spools of string floss at 30 meters each, held inside the glass dispenser you keep. - GLASS DISPENSER YOU KEEP – Twist off the metal cap and drop in a new spool when one runs out. No proprietary cartridge, no case to replace. - VEGAN AND SILK FREE – Most dental floss is made from silk. Ours is not, and contains no animal ingredients. Leaping Bunny certified, third party verified rather than self declared. - WAXED MINT FLOSS FOR ADULTS – Coated in candelilla wax and finished with peppermint essential oil. Slides between tight teeth without shredding or catching. - CHARCOAL FIBER, 30 METERS PER SPOOL – A firm, textured black floss that holds up through a full pass and leaves a light peppermint finish. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0812CKD8S | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Best Sellers Rank | #108,929 in Health ( See Top 100 in Health ) #469 in Dental Floss & Flossers | | Brand | ME MOTHER EARTH | | Brand Name | ME MOTHER EARTH | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 2,373 Reviews | | Dental Floss Type | Dental Floss | | Dental floss type | Dental Floss | | Flavor | Peppermint | | Flavour | Peppermint | | Included Components | Floss Dispenser | | Item Form | String | | Item Weight | 0.63 Ounces | | Item form | String | | Manufacturer | ME.MOTHEREARTH | | Manufacturer Part Number | 01 | | Material | Bamboo Charcoal | | Material Type | Bamboo Charcoal | | Model Number | 01 | | Number of Items | 2 | | Other Special Features of the Product | Biodegradable, Expanding, Flavored | | Package Type Name | Box | | Power Source | Manual | | Recommended Uses For Product | Oral Health | | Special features | Biodegradable, Expanding, Flavored | | UPC | 715706573108 | | Unit Count | 198.0 Feet | ## Product Details - **Brand:** ME MOTHER EARTH - **Dental floss type:** Dental Floss - **Flavour:** Peppermint - **Item form:** String - **Special features:** Biodegradable, Expanding, Flavored ## Images ![ME MOTHER EARTH VEGAN Biodegradable Bamboo Charcoal Dental Floss with Refillable Glass Container Free Refill Natural Candelilla Wax 33yds x2 Peppermint Essential Oil Eco Friendly Zero Waste Oral Care - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71ZE1vr3LNL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Where is the product made? USA?** A: Hello! US company based in Las Vegas, NV and manufactured responsibly in China. **Q: Does the charcoal come off on your hands or in your mouth so that you have to rinse with water after using?** A: No, the charcoal does not come off on your hands or in your mouth. It's more embedded in the floss than that. **Q: Can you please clarify how this biodegrades? Since some "biodegradable plastics" actually require separate sorting and special heat/chemical condition** A: I don’t think any part of this is plastic. The thread is bamboo and the container is glass w aluminum top. The refill is wrapped in a thin, rice like paper. So, all of this is either biodegradable, reusable and or can be recycled. **Q: Is there any risk of gluten cross contamination?** A: Hello, Our floss is not manufactured in a facility that handles anything with gluten nor does our manufacturing process include adding any gluten. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good product that works *by P***R on 10 August 2026* Strong and almost unbreakable: this is my new go-to floss. The description of this Floss and Jar are Accurate. >> I advise Everyone to take out a Ruler or Tape Measure and look at the Dimensions.<< It's small. IT'S DENTAL FLOSS!!! 😆 Some complained about the price... Well, get a pen and paper and compare what you are getting with this purchase and compare it to what you are currently using...Now, you have a Choice, keep putting plastic Pieces in your Body or switch to Bamboo. That's up to you. Personally, I like this Floss. It has a Mild flavor. It's Dental Floss. Conveient and i like that it is Non plastic! It's Great for the environment and safe to use. 1 Floss is already in a jar. The jar has a piece of cardboard supporting it in a lil box and the extra floss is next to it wrapped in tissue paper. I have good Amazon Drivers, so, If your glass is broken, THAT IS AN AMAZON ISSUE!!!! There is NO company here or anywhere that is going to put a broken glass or anything in a box and mail it! So, let's be serious... my box Is, in perfect condition. Mine had to make it thru a 2nd delivery. I recommend this product and the Vendor! ## Frequently Bought Together - Vegan Biodegradable Bamboo Charcoal Dental Floss with Refillable Glass Container | Free Refill | Natural Candelilla Wax | 30M x2 | Peppermint Essential Oil | Eco Friendly Zero Waste Oral Care - Vegan Biodegradable Bamboo Charcoal Dental Floss Refill Refill | Natural Candelilla Wax | 30M x4 | Peppermint Essential Oil | Eco Friendly Zero Waste Oral Care | 4 Pack - Boka Fluoride Free Toothpaste Nano Hydroxyapatite, Helps Remineralize, Appropriate for Sensitive Teeth, Whitening - for Adult, Kids Oral Care - Ela Mint Flavor, 4 Fl Oz 1Pk US Manufactured --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/317168956-me-mother-earth-vegan-biodegradable-bamboo-charcoal-dental-floss-refillable](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/317168956-me-mother-earth-vegan-biodegradable-bamboo-charcoal-dental-floss-refillable) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-14*
