A brand new black top had somehow gone into the wash with chewing gum on it, during the wash the chewing gum got stuck to various parts of the top leaving a white sticky residue over large parts of the top, I tried various methods which helped but this Goo Gone removed all traces of the sticky residue! Most of the glue had become very dry and crispy. So it did not work quickly. I needed to apply a lot of work and pressure with a micro fibre cloth to rub the glue off but it did function well. It took about half an hour (which seems a lot) but, if you do not give up, you can get results against difficult dry glue. It did not damage my paintwork either. In one place the glue was more fresh and still slightly sticky.
