Worked as expected
Product: "BH1750 LUX modules, 3 units".Three of 3 units were functional. Each passed tests of linearity, precision, and "accuracy" of the LUX measurement.Linearity: With progressively brighter LED bulbs, placed inside a light-excluding box and measured at 28cm, each module reported progressively higher LUX values.Precision: measurements from each module was correlated against the other two modules. The reported values were within 10% of each other - most values were within 3% (see photo #1)."Accuracy": I did not have access to a calibrated LUX meter, so I tested the modules against an Android phone light meter app (Cool Exp Lux Meter, Google Store).Although the measurements were different, most of the values were within 20% of the other (see photo #2) across a wide-range of light values.A fourth test: I was able to change the default address and use two modules concurrently on the same I2C bus.

Easy Setup
Simple easy set up, has been very reliable

33% DOA rate for me too
Unfortunately, I had 1 of out 3 be DOA from Amazon. I usually get quality products from Hiletgo, but these disappointed me.I ended up buying additional BH1750s of other brands and they worked out great.

It's probably not you...
All three of the modules I received were defective upon arrival. I spent hours debugging, testing, trying multiple host microcontrollers, validating my I2C communication, and never got a single one to work. Switched to a slightly different model to make sure the I2C wasn't the issue, and the others worked immediately with no changes.

Inconsistent Quality
1/3 of the chips I got worked. I don't know if this is common or if I got a bad batch but just watch out, there's a chance they may just not connect at all.

Works well. 0-30k readings of LUX
Followed Adafruit tutorial and got the sensor to work without any modifications to the code using the hp_BH1750 library. Native Arduino micro with 5 volt power supply.I am impressed with the readings 0 in darkness to about 30,000 with a flashlight pointed right at it, the range is very nice to have. Fine sensor.
