I was disappointed at first to realize that we couldn't do all of the cards when they arrived, but I am really happy that they do include size differences on the cards. It adds another level for them to grow into. This really encourages her to think, and introduces patterns and sequences in a really nice, fun way. She loves them, and I love that we both get to work together with them. "The Three Bears Family Counters" are the bears needed for these cards, There are 4 different colors and 3 different sizes, for sorting in small medium and large sequence as well as color sequencing. If you are using the bears for really small children who tend put things in their mouth the smallest bear in this set will be a choke hazard, so they would need to be well supervised when using them. The bears are of a good quality solid not hollow and the colors are bright. We like calling them papa bear, mama bear, and baby bear **Q: What exactly is included? How many cards? How many bears?** A: 15 cards with 30 activities and teaching guide included. For example you could take the pattern cards and had him continue the pattern for 3-4 more times. The colored and numbered die could be used in another board game that usually comes with the dot dice. The spinner can be used in any made up game. The large number cards could have each bear represent 10 and count that way. You just have to be creative. **Q: My son has autism and heΒ΄s still learning the AB pattern. How many cards is as simple as "ABAB" (only one size and only two colors, as the card #1)?** A: There are only 3 cards that have an ABA pattern. A few more have an ABA pattern with one color and 2 sizes. The easiest patterns are #1 cards. The ability to grasp and predict patterns is an important skill in today's world and this was a great way to introduce it to my 3 year old. She loves it. It is neither too tough nor too easy.
