A 50/50 mix of Borax and washing soda is excellent for whites in warm/hot water, it's not recommended for washing in cold water. You can also use the mix in your dishwasher, you can buy both at Wal Mart for about 1/3 the price of Amazon. **Q: Why is this so expensive? It worked just as well as the product that they sell for swim pools that contains sodium bicarbonate, and it's so much cheaper. I hope this information may help someone else.
