Review: Absolutely fantastic - Absolutely fantastic. I had been using an old Streamlight Trident for a decade and this blows it out of the water in terms of brightness, distance and runtime. The adjustable beam diffusion is great and without the dreaded dark spot in the middle like the old Maglites. This is about as bright on it's lowest setting as my old Trident is on its highest setting. I was a a bit hesitant to make the jump to rechargeable since before I could always throw some more AAAs in when it started running low but it has never been an issue. I never need the brightest settings, so I can use this all day and into the night without skipping a beat. I have used this almost daily for about a year now in hot attics. dirty crawlspaces and out in the rain and except for the strap it is no worse for the wear. The only thing I don't like about it is the weight, specifically when lying on your back. It's not so heavy as to be tiring, but it is extremely frustrating to be lying on your back working something above you and have your light keep falling off your head. Even when the straps are cinched tightly, this light is heavy enough that is wants to slip off when hanging upside down. My old Trident which used a plastic body and was noticeably lighter was much less prone to slipping off. Very impressed with Coast though, and will consider them first if I decide to get something smaller as a complement.
Review: Excellent headlamp — very bright and useful - I’ve really liked this headlamp. The light is very bright, and the adjustable focus is great for both close-up work and lighting up a larger area. I also like that it’s rechargeable with USB-C. It feels durable and well made, and the headband is comfortable to wear while working. The magnetic base is also very convenient. So far, I’m very satisfied with it and would definitely recommend it.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great light
*by J***N on July 25, 2026*

Great brightness settings and good battery life. Like being able to charge it instead of replacing batteries. Very convenient you can remove it from the strap and use it as a hand held light or is very strongly magnetized on one end so you can secure in metal to use as seperate light.
